FontForge and Inkscape implemented Spiro splines in 2007/2008, and the Spiro developer, Raph Levien, made a canvas based demo at http://fontly.com/sandbox/spiro.html – I hope you’ll consider implementing this :-)

Oh, there is a very nice video of Spiro in Inkscape to show off its potential! :-)

Oh and, it is a funny coincidence that the theme of Typism matches the theme of the upcoming new Open Font Library! :-)
